Hosting and server logs

The English website at road-media.com is hosted in a STRATO web-hosting package. The hosting provider processes technical log data when pages are requested. This may include IP addresses, access dates and times, requested files, transferred data volumes, referrer URLs, browser types and operating systems. The German edition at roadmedia.de is hosted separately by netcup and has its own German privacy information.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is secure, stable and technically reliable operation. Log data is retained only as long as required for those purposes and preventing misuse; the hosting provider's retention arrangements also apply.

Email enquiries

When you contact us by email, we process the information to handle the enquiry. For a potential domain purchase, the basis is pre-contractual steps under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; for other enquiries, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR applies. Data is deleted when the enquiry is resolved unless statutory retention duties require otherwise.
